“I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being” – Oscar Wilde

Dear Partners in the Theatre,
Since 1987, the Vail Valley Theatre Company has presented to the community at large, a vast array of theatrical productions. Our most recent endeavors being “Evening on Broadway”, “Man of La Mancha”, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum”, “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf” and last Fall’s hit “The Rocky Horror Show.” We were even fortunate enough in January, 2011 to bring Tony Award Winner Karen Olivo and International Choreographer Sergio Mejia to our valley to teach a Performance Master Class to our valley’s aspiring actors and singers.

Vail Theater COWe have two spectacular productions coming up in the near future. In September, we will produce “The Great American Trailer Park Musical” by David Nehls and Betsy Kelso. And back by popular demand, “The Rocky Horror Show” in October. These shows will be preceded by a couple of Cabaret Nights mixed in for the summer months. Theatre is our passion, and the Vail Valley Theatre Company is sure to delight our community with the arts in the next several months.

Our goals for the future of the Vail Valley Theatre Company are even greater for next season. We are challenging ourselves this year to bring more quality local theatre into our community in 2012. But we can’t do it alone. Ticket sales only cover roughly 30% of our costs and producing a quality show is enormous these days. We are counting on you, our Partners in the Theatre, to help us achieve our goals to continue to bring the magic of theatre to this community.

The 2011 Fundraising Campaign goalVail Valley Theater CO is $75,000.00 this year. This will help us achieve two things on our wish list:
Funding for the 2012 Season
Initial investment to secure a Black Box Theatre for smaller productions, workshops and classes.

As a community theatre here in the valley, we have never had a permanent home. It takes us a minimum of $6,000.00 just to walk in the door of the Vilar Center. As much as we would love to make that theatre our permanent home, it just isn’t feasible. We are counting on your generosity today to help us take this theatre company to the next level. In return, we have some wonderful Donor Benefits that we would like to provide to you as our thanks for your generosity. You can support VVTC as an individual donor or be so bold as to underwrite one of our productions. So take a moment and drop your gift in the mail today! Keep the magic of quality theatre alive and support the Vail Valley Theatre Company.

Sincerely,
Robert Wagner
VVTC Development Chairperson
